Dr Daniel O’Connell Finigan earned his MD in Berlin before the war, and qualified MCRS and LRCP in London.

He was commissioned into the Regiment in March 1904, promoted Lieutenant in 1905, and promoted Captain in 1907. He then spent time on the supernumerary list before being restored and then on the unattached list. At the start of the First World War he was posted to the 7th Bttn of the York & Lancaster Regiment before being posted to the RAMC in 1915.

He was one of the band of Regimental officers serving with the 1st Middlesex (Victoria and St. George’s) Volunteer Rille Corps changed its title to become the 9th (County of London) Battalion (Queen Victoria’s) along with Weekley, Shipley, Davies, Dickins, Harrison, Cox, and Fleming.

He was initiated into the Lodge in 1909.
