Captain Clifford Shields was born in 1888.
He was commissioned into the Northumberland Fusiliers in 1916 rising to the rank of Captain. He served with a Service Bttn in late 1916 and then on attachment to the Leicesters from 1917, being promoted Lieutenant on 5 March 1918 whilst with them. He gained his Captaincy attached to the 23rd Service Bttn, Lancashire Fusiliers.
He was initiated in 1922, aged 34. He became Worshipful Master for the first time in October 1929. He would fill that office on two more occasions in 1937 and again in 1946. He was given London Grand Rank in 1943.
He died in 1956.
