Captain Sidney James Holloway MC was a building contractor.

He enlisted in the 5th (City of London) Battalion (London Rifle Brigade) before being commissioned into the Victoria Rifles in April 1915. He was attached to the Lancashire Fusiliers and served in the Balkans in the closing stages of the war. He was promoted Captain in 1922.

He was initiated into the Lodge in November 1921. He rose through the ranks of the Lodge to be installed as Worshipful Master in 1928. He served again, becoming Master for the second and third times in successive years in October 1939 and October 1940. He was awarded London Grand Rank in 1941.

He served in the Observer Corps in the Second World War,

He died in 1956.
