Lieutenant Commander Willoughby Yockney Lane RNVR went to Repton between 1937 and 1941 in Latham House, a CCF Sergeant and a member of the Cricket XXII. He was later a school Governor. He was born 5 October 1923. He was known to his friends as Bill.

Commissioned as a Midshipman in Plymouth in April 1943, Lane was promoted Sub Lt in March 1944. He transferred to the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve in 1955. He returned to the RNVR when he returned to the UK. He was a financial consultant in later life with Allied Dunbar.

He joined he Old Reptonian Lodge No 3725 the PSLC Lodge associated with his alma mater in January 1992, the year after he was Worshipful Master of the Victoria Rifles Lodge.

He married Marie G P M J Stegan.

He died in September 2012.

He was a member of the Naval Club.
