Foster Henry Okey Nash was born 19 November 1855 at Pernambuco, Brazil, one of four children born to Foster William Nash and Elizabeth Nash (née Smith) of Upton, Birkenhead.

He went to Birkenhead School before going up to Trinity Cambridge in October 1974. He took his degree in 1878 before becoming a Solicitor with the firm of Bockett Stunt & Nash of 60 Lincoln’s Inn Fields. He was admitted in 1883.

He married Emily Beatrice Bockett, the daughter of John Symonds Bockett and Emily Toller, on 27 July 1886 at St Paul’s, Hampstead. They had four children. The family home was in Battle near Goring in Oxfordshire.

He was a keen golfer and a founding member of the Peppard Golf Club in Henley-on-Thames.

He was initiated into the Lodge in 1905.

Nash died on 9 July 1927 in Poole, Dorset, aged 71.
