Lt William Sankey. Detail from a photograph take in 1902 of the Regimental Officers at Shorncliffe Camp.

Major William Sankey was a member of the Regiment and the Lodge.

He was commissioned on 7 February 1897, and promoted Lieutenant on 22 Feb 1899. ON 16 March 1901 he resigned his commission and was appointed Quartermaster (a quirk of the appointment system then in force). He was promoted Captain on 3 March 1903, and made an Honorary Major on 2 July 1904. He finally resigned his commission on 25 February 1907.

He was initiated into the Lodge in 1908.
